“This message could not be sent” Error [0x80070005-00000000-00000000] in Outlook 2010

Filed under: Exchange 2013 — Rahul Patel @ 6:25 pm

Recently i have created one user email address on my Exchange server 2013., now this user need to have other user’s mailbox access also in his profile.

I have configured his outlook profile successfully and then add new profile for other user as well. Now when i start outlook , select 2nd user profile, login to his mailbox and i tried to send one mail for testing purpose, mail was bounce back with below error :

This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator.
                       Error is [0x80070005-00000000-00000000]

How Strange !  I had not have this type of an error in past. Then i had tried to remove outlook profile , recreate it but same issue arrived again !

I had Google it found below KB from Microsoft

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2918777

As per KB, This issue may occur if the address book in Outlook isn’t updated.

Update the address book in Outlook. To do this, follow these steps.

– On the Office ribbon, click the Send/Receive tab, click the down arrow next to Send/Receive Groups, and then click Download Address Book.

-In the Offline Address Book dialog box, make sure that the Download changes since last Send/Receive check box is selected and that Offline Global Address List is selected as the address book, and then click OK.

After updating outlook address book , Error was gone 🙂
